Moroccan tiles, or Zillij, are a universe of colors, shapes, patterns, and handmade crafts. From the twelfth century onward, the art of Zillij has become timeless in Morocco, an imitation of Roman mosaics. These ornamental techniques are a vital decorative element in the history of Islamic art and architecture.

Their patterns and their color palette inspired us, and we designed blocks on the pattern of Moroccan tiles. We loved the outcome, and the hand-block-printed sarees turned out to be very colorful and quite a hit. 

We have designed this pattern on khadi cotton, mul cotton, and tussar as well.
